The uniform of the London Nautical School is unique and adds much to the
character and ethos of the school.
The Pupil Code States:
"Full uniform must be worn properly on all School
occasions. The wearing of earrings and other items of jewellery is not
permitted and hair styles must be in keeping with the uniform of the School".
If a boy arrives at school without the correct uniform the following
procedure will be followed:
The pupil should have a letter of explanation from his
parents and should obtain a green card from his Form Tutor. If he will be out
of uniform for more than two days the card must be countersigned by his Head
of Year, who will also decide on a reasonable time-scale for sorting out the
problem and add to this date to the card.
During Parade pupils’ names and their reasons for being out
of uniform are recorded. Once each week during afternoon registration Form
Tutors will carry out a uniform check. When necessary a Period Six detention,
during Wednesday afternoon will be given.
If boys are persistently out of uniform, the Assistant
Headmaster will contact his parent(s) to establish the reason.
