The group has decided on a number of key projects-The fund raising for the new school garden, the inner garden area within the school adding to the new plants.
It was discussed about how to improve the school environment initially the large amount of litter that is in and around school. On Monday May 10th Mr McGregor will announce the campaign on school litter. Litter monitors have been appointed and will be recognised by high visibility jackets and will encourage others to clean up after each break duty. The aim is to have at least one eco-monitor in each tutor group to coordinate this and other activities.
A suggestion is to have energy free day-where no lights will be used in classes and if possible to monitor the savings made.
An eco group page will be added to the school web ste and in the student newspaper to be printed each term.
The school is now registered as an eco-school and will apply this term for Bronze status this term.
Meeting Finished 10.00am
