The money we raise from various events is used to fund things not otherwise provided for in the school budgets that will benefit the boys and their education. Members of staff are invited to put in bids each term. Here are some of the items the LNS PTA has bought to benefit the school recently:

• Five chess sets and clocks for use in the chess club

• Calculators for each new boy in Y7 and spares for training for the maths, science and SEN departments

• A set of nine videos for use in PSHE, including Hands on Bullying, Parliament Now, Human Rights and an A to Z of Love and Sex

• Learning Support materials covering KS4 maths basics and KS3 English basics that will be used throughout the school

• A DVD/video machine for the RE department

• A number of frames and some stretched canvas to display boys’ work around the school

• TV and video equipment and a screen for use in the hall

• A digital camera to help students record their work in art and other departments (50% contribution to cost)

Shortly it will also be buying portable display boards to help with presentation of the school and the PTA at various functions.
