Please find attached, if I have worked this correctly, a photograph which was
taken at the beginning of a school trip. I think it was
the trip to a summer pea picking in 1946 or 1947. I am in the forefront of the
picture with my elbow over the side of the lorry. Some of the other people on
the lorry were Johnny Johnson, a chap called Gafney and I think a chap called
Pallats, the rest I cannot remember. Are any of them still around? I would like
to hear from any other of the 'lads' who might remember me. I have in the past
contacted messrs Jensen, Pretty, Murnane and Pallats, but last time I tried to
contact Bas Jensen I received no reply. One day I hope to take a trip up to
London and see the school again but I am not much of a traveller these days, not
from physical infirmity but from lethargy.
Excuse any spelling errors I never was much good. Perhaps anybody who recognises
themselves will contact me sometime soon.
Best regards, Don Phillips.
