About us

The London Nautical School was founded in 1915, as a consequence of the official report into the loss of the “Titanic”. In 1990, it became one of the country’s first 11-18 comprehensive secondary schools for boys to be awarded grant maintained status.

In September 1999, we became a Foundation School within the London Borough of Lambeth. The school is situated in Stamford Street on the south bank of the River Thames, in between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge.

Responding to letters and faxes etc

We will continue to monitor our performance closely and are constantly developing and spreading good practice ideas.  We are continually improving our IT systems to speed up communication.  We like to make use of telephone and e-mail replies.  You may wish to quote your telephone number and/or e-mail address on your letter if this form of reply would suit you.  The school has a text message service and will make use of this to communicate up to date information, particularly information at short notice.

Standard 2

We will see you within 10 minutes of any pre-arranged appointment at the school.

Almost all our visitors are seen within ten minutes of our pre-arranged appointment time and our reception staff are regarded as courteous and efficient.  We will continue to monitor our performance against the appointments standard through a yearly appointment survey.
