Stryn Vidaregaande Skule-Norway March 2008
Mr Lopez has developed links through the Comenius projects with various schools in Europe. One of these schools The Stryn Vidaregaande Skule was visited with the aim of developing VI reciprocal links. In March both Neil McGregor (The Deputy Head and Mr Schofield (The Director of Sport) visited the school to develop the project further. The school is located in the North of Norway in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The school has approximately 250 students who are studying a variety of vocational courses. One particular area that was identified in the link with LNS was the sports programme which is similar in many ways to both the A level and BTEC National Physical Education courses we run. The expectation would be that students from both schools would spend some time in each country working and studying various elements of sport and recreation as well as careers in the sports industry. The following pictures provide a snapshot of the area, the school and some sport lessons including a very poor attempt at Biathlon by the GB LNS squad
