20 Boys from Year 10 were invited
to visit the world famous Billingsgate Fish Market in the Docklands. The aim
of the trip with Mr McGregor was to develop a knowledge of eating seafood. The
day started with a skills demonstartion, where they were taken through the
various stages in fish preparation, while the fishmonger talked to them how
fish is caught, where it comes from, and how to tell good quality fish, they
then moved to the kitchen where they were given the chance to prepare some
simple seafood dishes themselves and this was followed by the most popular
part of the day, the tasting!
Some of the boys proved
excellent cooks, move over Rick Stein!!!
