As part of out on-going research into life at LNS in the 50’s we have unearthed a fascinating 12 minute B/W film made in 1951 by "The London Schools Film Society". It was during an interview with ex-headboy John Ross that he recalled the making of this film. Fortunately the master material was found to be still safely preserved in the library of the British Film Institute and the school has paid to have a viewable copy made.

The four clips above are taken from the film whose purpose was to show how the school prepares boys for a career at sea.
