| the Lambeth Student
Pledge (supported by The London Challenge)
The Lambeth pledge is part of the London Challenge Strategy aiming to widen
young people’s experiences and aspirations by creating an expectation that
all young people in the capital will have opportunities to learn across ten
broad areas of activity, inside and outside school.
Before I am sixteen: -
I will have had the opportunity to express my views on London issues
and be listened to.
My academic, sporting or creative talents will have been celebrated at
school or outside.
I will have taken part in a public event, either sports, dance or
concert or visual arts.
I will have taken part in a play, musical or reading that involves
either acting, speaking or helping with the production.
I will have been on an educational visit or overnight stay.
I will have had the opportunity to help others through voluntary
activities
I will have been to an artistic or sporting event at a major London
venue.
I will have learnt to understand other cultures and faiths.
I will have planned, delivered and evaluated a project from beginning
to end.
I will have experienced cutting edge science and technology.
Please remember that the pledge is symbolic and is not a full description
of everything that should be on offer to Lambeth’s young people. The pledge
is a means of galvanising Lambeth and London organisations to offer more
high quality experiences to all young people and be a means of setting out
some of the advantages of a London education. |
